With collaborative projects and classes, the School of Engineering at Santa Clara is kind of like a family. Learn more about this tight-knight community in Professor Shoba Krishnan鈥檚 mock class during Preview Week for admitted students. 

Shoba Krishnan always gets excited for Preview Week. Even though the department chair of electrical and computer engineering won鈥檛 go on to teach each student in attendance, Krishnan knows this is her first chance to meet a handful of students she鈥檒l work closely with over the next four years.

鈥淚t seems we have at least a couple of students who end up enrolling at 黑料网 and taking classes with me,鈥 Krishnan says. 鈥淧eople get so excited to learn about the program at Preview Week. I get excited too.鈥

Krishnan is known in the School of Engineering for her dedication to students. She doesn鈥檛 just put in extra hours to teach the students in her class, she takes care of them: helping them get involved in research projects and secure internships. That relationship often starts with her mock class at Preview Week.

This year, Krishnan will host . The virtual event, which will be hosted on Bronco Exchange, explores how science, technology, and engineering can impact the world around us.

More specifically, it considers how Santa Clara鈥攍ocated in the center of innovation for the world鈥攊s specifically positioned to lead engineering and technology in an ethical and humanitarian direction.

鈥淥ur program is really focused on engaged and interactive learning,鈥 Krishnan says. 鈥淏eing in Silicon Valley there are lots of exciting opportunities for undergrads to get involved in from research opportunities to industry mentorship.鈥

Admitted students are encouraged to sign up for virtual events throughout Preview Week and to register for the in-person event on April 9. Other virtual events include:
